Happy Holidays MAPpers! Now that we have Thanksgiving behind us it’s truly beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Minnesota received heavy doses of vitamin snow last week and a heart-stopping chill has settled in, making going outside not only difficult but also just downright unpleasant. The shopping centers are blasting Christmas music and lights adorn trees at a staggering rate. In the spirit of the season and all of those apple-red cheeks, we want to present to you our latest installment of “MAP Delivers Hope.”

We really get into the Christmas spirit here at MAP and we are decking the halls with all sorts of holiday decorations including our REAL tree, a Christmas village, lights all over the place, and a massive, beautifully wrapped, “Toys for Tots” donation box. This program is particularly exciting because not only are we accepting monetary and toy donations, but every single delivery that is sent through both our pool and on-demand systems, between November 28th and December 20th, will each equate to $0.10 from MAP to buy gifts for children in want. This equates to roughly about $50 per day or a grand total of more than $800!

Once all monies are collected, MAP will go down to a local store and purchase gifts for all of those unfortunate children, so that they may enjoy this holiday season along with everyone else. All checks should be made to “MAP Transportation” and our address is 2582 Long Lake Rd, Roseville, MN 55113. We can provide receipts if you wish to have one. If you have any questions please give us a call at 763-535-5232.

Another initiative that we have decided to take part in is the Fifth Annual Troop Whoop for Operation Minnesota Nice. Operation Minnesota Nice is a Ramsey based non-profit that accepts donations of all sorts of those little amenities that we take for granted everyday like cards, board games, pop-tarts, ketchup packets, toothpaste, mouthwash, sunscreen, etc. The full list is available on their website. All of these goods will be sent to Minnesota soldiers fighting overseas to try and make their Christmas a little brighter. This drive, unfortunately, ends this Friday so that Operation Minnesota Nice can be sure that the care packages are delivered by Christmas. All donations can be mailed to us or dropped off here at our office.

Back in October we highlighted Pogbi from Burkina Faso and our taking her on as a sponsored child through; well we have decided to add another child to our “MAP Delivers Hope” board. Asan was born in Indonesia on January 22, 2007 and lives with her mother, father, and six siblings. She currently attends kindergarten at the Kaliasin Bersinar Student Center and helps take care of her siblings. Her parents are occasionally employed as laborers, but it can be incredibly difficult to raise seven children on a laborers salary. Fortunately, we are able to help her get proper medical care and education and hopefully make her Christmas a little brighter.

Well MAPpers, that’s it for this week’s blog, We do hope you are staying warm with all of this snow and cold weather. Please be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for more fun things and daily updates. We would like to thank Toys for Tots, Operation Minnesota Nice, and Compassion International for all of their hard work and for making the lives of people around the world a little better. Also, thanks again to all of you MAPpers, you are the best and as always, don’t forget to be awesome!
